MINIATURE SCHNAUZERS

Welcome to Reberstein's Miniature Schnauzer web site.  The purpose of this web site is to inform and introduce schnauzer lovers across the world to reputable and responsible breeders of the miniature schnauzer breed.  We strictly adhere to our breed standard as outlined by the American Kennel Club (AKC)and The American Miniature Schnauzer Club. Our breed standard is what makes a schnauzer a schnauzer : general appearance, size, proportion, substance, color and temperament.  

You should NOT purchase a puppy from a breeder who disregards the breed standard, as they are misinformed, misleading, and do not have the best interest of the puppy or you in mind. They just want to promote  their own private agenda, of trying to get these undersized dogs recognized by the AKC.  These small dogs are usually not as healthy as their full sized counterparts.  The AKC will not recognize these "new" sized miniature schnauzers.  Before the AKC will recognize a new type of breed, they must have approval from the parent breed club, in this case The American Miniature Schnauzer Club (AMSC).  The members of the AMSC have already said no to admitting the "toy" or "mini" miniature schnauzers, as they are not a betterment of the breed.

When a breeder disregards the breed standard, they are compromising the integrity of the miniature schnauzer breed.  Reputable breeders produce puppies that compliment, not contradict the miniature schnauzer breed standard.
